Missionary Man

I am presently in production of the concept video for "Missionary Man" .

Brief Synopsis

Missionary Man is a reality based television series that is based around Dr. David a missionary dentist from Kentucky. Dr. David and his faithful wife and side kick Martie travel to different 3rd world countries taking mission teams to help the helpless. There are several strong characters including, Dr. David, a man that looks like an X convict but acts like a military saint, Martie, an educated red neck German with purpose, Dr. Leslie, the beautiful periodontist with a heart the size of a small village along with her 9 year old son and 12 year old adolescent daughter, Brad a physicians Assistant, a kind, giving person hidden under his sarcasm and jokes, and Dr. Greg another periodontist entrepreneur originally from the hills of Kentucky committed to getting things done, along with the rest of the crew of mish mashed professions including a pool supply salesman, students, nurses, a meteorologist, etc.

Dr. David and Martie some how pull all of these dynamic individuals from diverse back grounds together to be a highly effective and efficient team. Hundreds of people are helped that never would've been helped if it wasn't for this team of hard working givers. The video is just a slice of what goes on behind the scenes of one of these trips from, patients being treated, Dr. David dealing with members of the mission group getting sick, a van getting broken into, to some playful bantering among the team and more. Missionary Man along with his trusty side kick and wife Martie are like mother hens protecting their chicks from the unseen dangers of a 3rd world country. To some it is all fun and games but not to the Missionary Man. He realizes they are at war in the mission field against anything that attempts to stop or hinder their mission. Other comrade resident missionaries and good friends of theirs have been attacked, raped and murdered! But still they persist with the mission. Dr. Dave and Martie make it fun but there is still inherent mortal danger that lurks around every corner and in every shadow. The MISSIONary Man stays on top of his game and alert every moment with back up safety plans B,C and D. As Dr. Dave, The MISSIONary MAN says "paranoia is the highest form of alertness, besides, it's not paranoia if they really are trying to get you".

Show Plans

This concept video will be shopped to networks to be picked up for a series. This series is unique to anything that is out there. It has travel appeal for those that enjoy learning about foreign lands (The Travel Channel). It has a sense of helping humanity by doing just that, giving this TV series a great redemptive value that is a trend with networks, ie. Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Dr. Phil, House make over shows, etc. The Discovery Channel and the Learning Channel are looking for shows that "Do Good". One of the things that this show has that none of the other shows come close to is the cast. The Diversity of the people, like Dr. Dave, a convict looking dentist, Martie, his faithful wife and side kick , etc. Each of our cast has a dynamic background and a "Story". The personalities of each of our characters not only are interesting to get to know on a deeper level, but they are amusing to watch as they interact with each other and the people they are helping. The viewer notices how the main characters have a deep respect and love for each other and the people they are working on. Each mission group bonds so quickly with each other, some are complete strangers, that some times resemble that of siblings picking on each other. These are NOT your typical Missionaries!

That being said I feel very confident of the marketability of the show and its cast. This format will be easy to reproduce season to season with each trip being a season. A different location and new members of the Staff. There will be some returning supporting characters, but each trip will have its own adventures. This will be something the whole family can watch, thus a good candidate for prime time.

I am presently working on another project that is getting very good industry interest. We presently have a preliminary meeting set up for early Oct. to discuss this show and another. This person is a very influencial person at their network. This contact also has many other contacts that will be available to us if there is not a "match" for their network.
